This Tumblr is my unfiltered blog for sketches, doodles, comics, among many other things.Tumblr (3.0; @e1n)http://e1n.tumblr.com/<p>If there are people who naturally walk with the same side’s limbs swinging in the same direction, it’s news to me. I’m sure you can practice it repeatedly and force yourself to walk that way, but I have never heard of nor seen anyone who walk/run that way naturally. </p> <p>The reason why when people walk the arm and leg on the same side swing in opposite direction (right leg front, right arm back / left leg front, left arm back) is governed by physics and has to do with the way our body tries to balance itself rhythmically. If you look at a baby when it’s still crawling and doesn’t know how to walk yet, you’ll notice that when the right arm reaches forward, the right leg is stretched backwards. It’s how the baby naturally balances him/herself before he or she is taught how to walk on two legs. </p> <p>I’m not saying it’s impossible to walk the “improper” way, but if there’s anyone who does that naturally, I would love to hear more about it.
